    About

The Red Eared Slider Turtle's scientific name is trachemys scripta elegans. Average adult size is 6-12 inches long. Their life span is between 20-40 years. Turtles reach their adult size between 12-18 months.

The habitat that the turtle lives in should be at least a 40 gallon breeder tank with a screen lid, therefore the turtle cannot escape. Other items that should be included in the tank are plants, gravle, a basking rock, and verious other items for a cozy home. The tank also needs to have a heating light and a heater so the water temperature is a consistant temperature. (water temperature should be(95°F for the warm end/basking area and 75°F for the cool end/water).
